What is the Home and School Association?
The Home and School Association is an essential part of Our Lady of Grace. We work with the administration, staff, and parents to enhance your child’s learning environment and school experience.
What are Home and School Membership Dues/Fundraisers?
The Home and School relies on each family’s membership fee of $25, at the start of each school year, to help jump start our efforts. The fee will be automatically added to FACTS. Please reach out to one of the Board members if you have any questions or concerns.We also bring in money through successful fundraising efforts.
Annual fundraisers may include, but are not limited to the following:- Trivia Night
- Spirit Nights
- Seasonally appropriate catalog fundraisers
- World’s Finest Chocolate Bars or Gertrude Hawk fundraisers (candy sale)
Ongoing fundraisers:
- Lucky Draw Raffle (Based on the PA lottery drawing "Evening Pick-3" ONLY. Envelopes are mailed with church envelopes.
- Box Tops for Education
What Does the Home and School Association Do With the Money Raised?
The Home and School Association has provided funds for the following recurring events:- Amazing programs to promote cultural awareness and diversity, musical enrichment, and fun ways to approach traditional subjects like Science & Math.
- Snacks and drinks for special events like Spirit Day, the Walk-a-thon, dances, Home and School Association meetings and during Catholic Schools Week, our popular Grandparent’s Bingo, and the Student’s Luncheon.
- Two $1,000 Catholic high school scholarships to the winners of our 8th-grade essay contest (families must be Home and School Association Members for their children to participate).
The Home and School Association has provided funds for the following special considerations/requests:- Installation of carpeting in the school chapel.
- School yard games painted on the new blacktop parking lot.
- Security cameras throughout the school and parking lots.
- Spelling City and IXL Learning Programs
- Reading carts
- Reading Olympics books and t-shirts
- DARE graduation t-shirts
- Gowns for 8th Grade Graduation.
- Sound system in the gym
The Home and School Association has provided funds to the teachers for the following considerations:- Gift cards.
- Start-up money for the teachers to outfit their classrooms each September.
- Funds for “Wish List” items at the end of each school year.
