The children that participating in the individual virtual learning with their classrooms will be given either Zoom or Google Meet information to sign in every day. Teachers will email you a schedule of the daily classes. The children can participate in all classes except Gym, and Stream classes. All materials need to be picked up a week prior to when the students start school.
Each room has been set-up with a Chromebook on a tripod so the children participating in the virtual learning can be live with their classmates. Each teacher will send out their daily schedules. You will receive a morning and lunch/recess break each day and then go back into the Zoom or Google Meet meeting at the designated time. Elementary school teachers normally do not stand in one place to complete instruction but will do their best to make sure your child/ren get everything they need. All students must adhere to the Dress Code, Student Handbook, and Discipline policy. To have a good experience, both inside the classroom and on virtual learning, all students must follow the Acceptable Use Policy when utilizing technology. All behavior both on and off the computer must be adhered to.
The children must follow these steps:
The students are to wear their school uniform (gym uniform).
The students are to arrive to their classes on time. Classes begin at 8:30 am
The child/ren need to be sitting at a desk or table in a designated quiet area in your home without distractions.
There should be no eating while on Zoom or Google Meet.
They should participate and ask questions while in the class.
All tests and assignments will be sent as the teacher directs.
There will be a morning and lunch/recess break.
Homework will be on the teacher’s site under Academics on the website.
If the instruction has happened and questions have been answered but your child still does not understand, please email the teacher and the teacher will respond by the end of the day.
If your child is sick and will not be in the class, you must call the office to report the absence following the same policy put in place for all students.
If a child/ren is absent from the Zoom class or Google Meet due to illness, they will be given the chance to make up their work. Teachers will set a reasonable time for the completion of the missed work.
Materials:
All materials (books, whiteboards, stationery order through the school, and Chromebook if needed) will be set up and ready for you to pick them up the week of Monday, August 24th until Thursday, August 27th. If you need an extra device, you must notify the teacher prior to the time of pick up.
Mass/Prayer Services will be live-streamed so the students can participate at home.
Report Cards will be distributed according to our normal schedule each year.
Student schedules are the same as the student’s in the classroom. The class the child/ren cannot be streamed into is Physical Education. In order to get a grade, she may send written assignments to the students
Accommodations and Modifications are provided whether the child is in school or virtually learning. The communication is important with this issue. A phone conference between all parties is necessary to talk about the modifications. Information, along with the form to sign will be sent home prior to the phone conference at the beginning of the year.
Communication is a must between home and school in this situation. Please let the teacher know of any concerns. Thank you!
