Our Lady of Grace Receives $10,700 Grant from Bucks IU

Our Lady of Grace (OLG) School is pleased to announce that they have received a $10,700 grant from the Bucks County Intermediate Unit (Bucks IU). The Bucks IU operates as a regional educational service agency by providing cost-effective, management-efficient programs to schools and the community of Bucks County. This grant will be used towards updating OLG’s school security across campus. 

OLG plans on utilizing the funds to drastically improve the current security system at the school. This grant will provide the faculty, staff, and most importantly the students of OLG with a safe and secure learning environment over the course of the school year while ensuring the building remains protected during the summer. 

Upgrades will allow OLG to retire the damaged 30-year-old system currently in place and introduce new cutting-edge technologies, such as a key card entry system and updated security cameras. The key card entry system will allow OLG faculty and staff to enter the building by swiping their identification card and be recognized and approved by the system for the doors to unlock. The new camera system to be installed will surely increase the security capabilities within and surrounding the property. The system features 15 built-in AI features including facial detection, area intrusion, region entrance/exiting, and much more.

“Parents send their students to Catholic schools for many reasons, but chief among them is generally a sense of safety and security,” said Principal Eric Harper. “This grant will allow us to create an even safer and more secure environment at Our Lady of Grace, one where community and learning can flourish.”
