Recently, the importance of STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) within schools has evolved into the importance of STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math). Catholic schools embrace the idea of STREAM (science, technology, religion, engineering, arts and math) as a way to enhance learning, and incorporate the importance of each subject, and further develop skills to succeed in the 21st century.
Religious education is the foundation on which Our Lady of Grace is built on. Our curriculum revolves around Christ’s word. Ensuring your child is given the opportunity to learn about their faith, in addition to their other favorite subjects provides them with a well-rounded education where faith and academics are fully integrated, not totally separated. That’s why the concept of STREAM is so important to Our Lady of Grace. It’s important to let each student flourish in the subjects they excel in. It is also important to help students have resources to learn about subjects they may not be as familiar with or as well versed in.
Incorporating an equal importance across STREAM, students may sit in a group setting, to discuss information. Learning how to work with one another, and learning from each other is just as important as learning from the teacher. Group efforts help build interpersonal relationships, and help build skills, like problem solving.
Children are facing an increasingly challenging world. At Our Lady of Grace, we are committed to providing a dynamic academic program integrated with faith and morals We believe that this foundation will best equip children to meet those challenges head-on
