Good morning, students and families!
We are honored to present the final set of Students of Grace awards! This final trait is another important one.
Some of us may think self-control is passing on an extra Oreo, or maybe skipping another episode on Netflix. Self-control is learning to master our humanity!
True self-control is a gift from above produced in us from the Holy Spirit! It’s not about just saying no; it’s about saying yes! In self-control, we are allowing ourselves to be controlled by the love of Christ!
It may sound crazy, the more we allow ourselves to be controlled, the freer we become. Think of writing – are we more free to write wonderfully creative tales when we don’t follow the conventions of grammar? No! Once we master the rules, we become great writers. Once we master ourselves, we allow the love of Christ to flood our being and become our freest selves!
All of our teachers were paying attention to students who were living out our call to self-control! I am so happy to formally recognize our Students of Grace for this month for the virtue of self-control.

Teacher: Mr. Morgridge
This teacher is a wonderful example of self-control. One of his students said he’s a good teacher, especially when he teaches him math. Another said he’s very nice. Another said he makes school fun when he lets his students pin the hair on Mr. M. Thanks for being a wonderful example of self-control to our students and such a welcome member of the staff! Congrats, Mr. Morgridge.
